We are again supporting York Foodbank and invite you to collect items during Lent and bring them to CMC on the morning of 3 April (Easter Saturday) between 9am -12 noon.
According to the Foodbank’s website, 1 in 5 of the UK population live below the poverty line and in York, where the average rent is over £1,100 per month, many families are struggling to cope, so any help you can give will be most welcome.
York Foodbank is fairly well stocked at present in baked beans, pasta, cereals, nappies and sanitary products, but they are currently shortest of of tinned fruit, washing-up liquid, cleaning sprays, tinned meats, powdered milk, deodorant, shampoo and shower gel.
They are unfortunately unable to accept baby milk, chilled/frozen products and homemade items and, of course, out of date or opened items.
Please consider how you can help and give as generously as you are able.
