A new Small Group
Meeting in homes in small groups has been difficult in recent times. There used to be several small groups who met for Bible study during the week, but there are fewer now. Being part of a small group is so valuable and enjoyable. It gives the opportunity for fellowship and to further our spiritual journey by learning more about the Lord, his word, and sharing with one another about how to follow Jesus in our everyday lives.
So, we will launch a new ‘Small Group’ on Wednesday 19 January, at 7.00 p.m. Initially, we feel it has to be on Zoom, but we will meet in person at some point. When we do meet in person, we will hold the group in the church, where we will have the space to spread out and we can have good ventilation.
This first meeting will be just a few days after Steve’s talk about ‘Prayer’ on Sunday 16, so we will continue that topic with discussion and further Bible study. Prayer is such a foundational and important part of the Christian life, everything starts with prayer, so it’s exciting to have this opportunity to study prayer together in a small group. There will be time for chatting to one another as well.
We are not certain how often this group will want to meet, (or whether anyone wants to come at all!) but initially, we hope to hold it at least monthly, possibly more frequently as time goes on. All are welcome, even if you already belong to another small group.
Again, this is a new season we are in, and we are keen to offer those who miss being in a small group a chance to be part of one once again. Heather will lead the first session.
